NPH UK joins Fondazione Francesca Rava-NPH Italia Onlus in Ukraine relief effort

NPH UK is working together with our partner Fondazione Francesca Rava-NPH Italia Onlus, established in Milan over 20 years ago and part of the global NPH network, to bring relief to those affected by the Ukraine conflict. The humanitarian crisis is growing each day as the fighting intensifies across Ukraine.

NPH volunteer paediatric surgeon from Ukraine working with us

We are working to bring medical aid to hospitals and support to displaced people in Ukraine. Convoys with medical supplies are being sent from Milan to Chernivtsi and then distributed to hospitals across the country by Dr. Oleg Chorny, Head of Department of Health of Chernivtsi regional state administration, and Dr. Oleg Bodnar, Head of the Paediatric Hospital at Bukovinian State Medical University of Chernivtsi. Dr. Bodnar is also a volunteer paediatric surgeon for NPH and has carried out several missions to NPH Haiti’s St. Damien Paediatric Hospital.

Medical supplies and food reaching those in need

To date, over 170 tons of invaluable medical aid have been sent from Milan to Ukraine through our logistics network. This has been distributed to hospitals nationwide and to the army on the front line, including emergency and surgery kits, portable x-ray machines and sonographs, and medicines. We are also delivering food supplies.

Friends for Ukraine concert providing more support

Elena McFarlane and Francesca Budini Gattai are organising a charity concert: Friends for Ukraine, on 27th April 2022. Half of the proceeds will be donated to our Ukraine relief mission. Thanks to their support and those who attend the concert, we will be able to provide more medical aid and food to the Ukrainian people when they need it most.
